Dr. Gary Drillings

Dr. Gary Drillings is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine.  His experience includes Assistant Team Physician for the Chicago Cubs, New York Jets and New York Rangers.  He uses this training to treat sports related injuries and provide reconstructive surgery of all major joints.  He understands the issues involved in all levels of athletic participation and has extensive experience in non-sports related injuries as well.

Dr. Drillings’ goal is to help his patients return to their pre-injury level of activity.  Therefore, he believes in conservative management of orthopaedic injuries, as well as aggressive rehabilitation for both surgical and non-surgical treatments.  Dr. Drillings strives to educate his patients on the importance of overall fitness as the best way to prevent future injuries or diminish the impact of those that are unavoidable.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Drillings has pursued leadership positions within the medical community.  He served as chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Chilton Medical Center as well as Vice President of the Medical Staff.  He recently completed a Business of Medicine MBA program to better address the dramatic changes in healthcare. He has been named Top Doctor, New York Metropolitan Area by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. every year since 1999.

Dr. Drillings lives in Morris County with his wife and two sons.  He has served as coach, referee and team physician in youth sports for many years.  He enjoys golf, tennis, photography, sailing and world travel.
